I know this is too hard for politicians, power company CEOs, and electrical engineers to figure out--but if you're gonna put solar panels in the desert*, this is where you install them--over aqueducts.

*However, by far the best place to install solar is on rooftops and over parking lots, close to the loads it serves.

Hey #NewJersey! The NJ Assembly is voting TODAY on A5264, a streamlines the permitting process for new #solar power by removing administrative barriers and lowering costs to help more NJ households adopt solar. #renewableenergy

Easier permitting means more solar power added to the grid — a win for grid stability & fighting #ClimateChange. BONUS: Passing A5264 gives the finger to 47!

Use this Vote Solar form to email & tell your assembly members to vote YES on A5264:

And in #GoodNews ...

"Scientists have used solar power to heat an object to 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit (1,000 degrees Celsius) — hot enough to power a steel furnace. The proof-of-concept study, published May 15 in the journal Device, demonstrates how solar energy could replace fossil fuels in high-temperature manufacturing processes, such as smelting steel."

I happen to be of that particular genre of Stupid that thinks if one is claiming to be serious about climate, environment, & biodiversity protection & enhancement, such that one claims to be forming policy for it, then precisely none of the entities historically & currently doing all the fucking over of those things, gets to sit at the decision table. Instead, they simply get told afterwards that the rules of the game have changed, & all their fucking over shall immediately cease, otherwise it's the Big House for them. I'd prolly also include some appendix formally noting all these entities are fuckheads who can just fuck off.

@AlisonCreekside @SnowshadowII I am actually despondent when discussing this topic. We moved our young family to the Island 36 years ago when Climate Change started to become obvious and we decided to make the most of what lay ahead. There isn’t a day that goes by that I am not ashamed that we as a country have not stood up and tried to do our bit to stop the destruction of this beautiful planet. 🌎 #degrowth #environmentaljustice #RenewableEnergy #NoPlanetB

Why is it, no matter how much I search for prices for a heat-pump or household battery to go with the solar panels, *every* company touts a "free quote" yet demands contact details?
What happened to putting prices on the web upfront like honest companies? This is shady dirty behaviour. Why should I do business with any of them?
