PSA: The Tor Browser Security Level slider cannot be relied upon without a full browser restart (per an anonymous community report and confirmed by Privacy Guides staff) - Make sure you are aware of this if you rely on this feature for your safety.

If you frequently switch between security levels in Tor Browser (or Mullvad Browser!), make sure you are fully restarting the browser every time, otherwise you could still unexpectedly have dangerous JS features enabled!
This requirement is not publicly documented anywhere. Hopefully @torproject will add a prompt to restart after modifying this setting in a future Tor Browser release.

But I also consider why @torproject hasn't done so:
- Because they'd rather focus on the few projects they can maintain at their staffing and budget than become the next "Apache Foundation" piling up #Abandonware.
And lets be honest @tails_live / @tails / #Tails is way more important to maintain as with #TorBrowser, literally human lives depend on it!

- They completely loose #focus and I think they should hand over #Firefox to @torproject and turn #TorBrowser into the Upstream...

@DavidBHimself personally I use @torproject / #TorBrowser as my main browser for quite some time and can highly recommend it.
- Otherwise consider #LynxBrowser and #dillo instead, if you feel comfy sacrificing features for speed.

@nixCraft I think @mozillaofficial should hand over #Firefox to @torproject and let #TorBrowser become the new #upstream!
I mean, @thunderbird / #Thunderbird got taken over by it's community as well. Not shure if they have any relations beyond #Trademark and some #Hosting infra at #Mozilla...
